Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Tinajones beat the Monjes Grises.

Camaguey Tinajones starter Hernán Cruz pitched his team past the Ciego de Avila Monjes Grises, 10-2. At 33-23, the Tinajones are currently first in the Torneo Oriental Camaguey.

The Tinajones took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Senén Chávez hit a grand slam home run off Ciego de Avila pitcher Renato Medina, putting Camaguey in front, 10-2. For the game, Chávez was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once.

"They beat us, they beat us soundly," said losing manager Hernán Leonardo.
