Bayamo and Guantanamo put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Guantanamo Cocoteros got a sterling performance from pitcher Normando Saravia, but the Bayamo Rafagas still prevailed, 4-2. Saravia threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives Bayamo a season record of 30-25.
The result might have been different, had it not been for five-time All-Star Evaristo Flores. Flores had a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rafagas ahead, 4-2. For the game, Flores had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Despite the victory, Flores was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
