Manzanillo Martenos pitcher Esteban Torres was in fine form, leading his team past the Trinidad Tabacaleros, 2-1. Getting the save was Víctor Rivera, his 7th.

The Martenos got an important contribution from left fielder Miqueas Velásquez, who in the bottom of the first hit a fastball to center for a run-scoring double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Martenos ahead, 2-0.

Velásquez told a Manzanillo Times reporter that the win made him feel "terrific."

Manzanillo raised its record to 37-22 with the win.
