The Las Tunas Escultores picked up a win at Estadio de los Escultores, knocking off the Bayamo Rafagas, 5-4. On the mound for Las Tunas was right-hander Jonás Hernández. He played a key role in the triumph. Natán Rivera picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-4. Afrodisio Alcalá suffered the loss. The victory gives the Escultores a record of 33-27.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Rafagas allowed the Escultores to score the winning run.

Frostick told a Las Tunas Observer reporter that he was "very happy" with the win.
