The Bayamo Rafagas powered past the Holguin Pericos, 8-4, at Recinto Deportivo de Holguin. José Aranda provided some of the pop. He was 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The second-place Rafagas sport a record of 37-31.

Ivan Kral had a big solo home run for the Rafagas in the top of the fourth inning. With Bayamo leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a cutter from Sergio Ríos, who finished 5th in the TORI in ERA with 1.86 in 1906, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Rafagas on top, 4-2.

"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Aranda told the Bayamo News.
