Before the game, Acacio Barron said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Campo de los Tabacaleros, the Rafagas pitcher blanked the Trinidad Tabacaleros, 4-0.

"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Barron said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."

The Bayamo starter held Trinidad scoreless, giving up 4 hits while registering 2 strikeouts and issuing no walks.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Tabacaleros manager Florián Cortés said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
