Pérez Propels Mayabeque to 4-1 Win
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Mayabeque Alacranes and Santa Clara Leopardos were able to complete their ballgame.
Mayabeque registered a win at Estadio de Santa Clara by beating the Santa Clara Leopardos, 4-1. Pitcher Cirilo Pérez was one reason why the Alacranes triumphed. The first-place Alacranes now have a record of 39-34.
Pérez was in the zone all game. He frustrated Santa Clara hitters while giving the Alacranes 9 innings of quality work. Pérez threw 122 pitches, allowing 6 hits and getting 6 punchouts.
"Cirilo throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Mayabeque manager Bernal Echevana.
