Anaxímenes Vásquez impressed in the 5-4 Camaguey win over Santiago de Cuba. Vásquez, who finished 5th in the TORI in stolen bases with 37 in 1909, went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 3 runs. With the win, Camaguey has a record of 36-41. Santiago de Cuba falls to 30-48.
Camaguey used the timely hitting of Pascual Felipe to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tinajones on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
