The Habana Leones got production from their entire lineup in an easy 14-3 win over the Nueva Gerona Marmoleros. Doing his part was shortstop Hortensio Hernández. Hernández, who finished 4th in the TOCC in runs with 75 in 1907, was 3-5 with 3 doubles and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. The third-place Marmoleros dropped to 37-49.

Hernández had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth to put Habana in front, 6-3. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Nueva Gerona pitcher Ululani Kapeliela.

"We played hard and won," said Hernández. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
