The Holguin Pericos clipped the Manzanillo Martenos, 3-2, in 10 innings at Recinto Deportivo de Holguin. The standout performance belonged to Holguin pitcher and Bayamo, Cuba, native Sergio Ríos. The Pericos sit in first place in the Torneo Oriental Santiago de Cuba with a record of 49-44.

The Pericos got a clutch hit from first baseman Huáscar Angulo. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left-center, to win the game for the Pericos.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Angulo told reporters after the game.
