Santa Clara Sends Artemisa Packing with 5-0 Loss
|
Alcides Estrada, who finished 2nd in the TORI in innings pitched with 270.1 in 1910, propelled his team to victory over the Artemisa Rojos. The final score was 5-0, Santa Clara. In 8.1 innings, Estrada surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The loss makes Artemisa 46-51.
Santa Clara catcher Aniceto Zacarías contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a cutter to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 45th hit of the season and put the Leopardos ahead, 3-0.
