Tinajones Deal Cocoteros 6-2 Defeat
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Camaguey Tinajones and Guantanamo Cocoteros came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Jorge Alarcón was locked in. The right-hander led the Camaguey Tinajones to a 6-2 win against the Guantanamo Cocoteros at Campo de los Cocoteros. Alarcón yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 7-10.
Camaguey relied on the hitting of Príamo Cuadra to pick up the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Tinajones on top, 3-0. For the game, Cuadra had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Alarcón.
The Tinajones are now 51-51, while the Cocoteros fall to 41-59.
