Habana registered a win at Estadio de Santa Clara by beating the Santa Clara Leopardos, 4-2. Pitcher Amadís Pérez was one reason why the Leones triumphed. The winner was Pérez. He threw 8.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Amadís Zavala. The defeat makes Santa Clara 58-63.

In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Hortensio Hernández gave Habana the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Leones had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out single off Santa Clara pitcher Amadís Zavala changed that -- and Habana went on to win.

"Amadís was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Habana manager Telesforo López.
