Matanzas Gets 4-3 Road Win
The Matanzas Henequeneros managed to get by the Mayabeque Alacranes, 4-3, at Parque de los Alacranes. Matanzas first baseman Desiderio Vega set himself apart with his performance. Francisco Teixeira was credited with the save for Matanzas, his 3rd of the season. Matanzas is now 50-49, while Mayabeque is 55-46.

Matanzas took a 4-1 lead on Vega's 16th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Cirilo Pérez in the top of the seventh, propelled Matanzas to the win.

Mayabeque manager Bernal Echevana said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
