The Toluca Chorizos topped the Michoacan Calaveras, 7-3, in Sur action at Campo Municipal de Morelia. The standout performance belonged to Toluca pitcher and Veracruz, Mexico, native Raimundo Magaña. Magaña yielded 3 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 11 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 2-1. The loss drops the Calaveras to 6-6.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the top of the third. That's when Chorizos right fielder Tibulo Torres hit a curveball from Juan Carlos Acosta for a 2-run single. Just like that, Toluca was up, 4-3.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Magaña.
