The Jalisco Jinetes picked up a win at Campo de Guadalajara, downing the Durango Alacranes, 4-2. On the mound for Jalisco was right-hander Breen Malone, who played a pivotal role in the win. Malone, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Santiago Palacios wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.
Had Adam Collingwood not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Collingwood hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Jinetes.
"Breen was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Jalisco manager Manuel Quiñones.
Jalisco now has a record of 10-8.
