Nayarit beat Nuevo Laredo in a rain-soaked ballgame.

Miguel Castañeda was nothing short of phenomenal for the Nayarit Mariachis. The 26-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Nuevo Laredo Colibris, 2-0. Nayarit sits at 10-11 in the early going.

Silvestre Santeliz hit a run-scoring triple off Francisco Martínez in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Mariachis in front, 1-0. Santeliz had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 3.

"My gosh almighty, Miguel was tremendous," said Nayarit manager Isabelino Vidales.
