Acapulco pitcher Nerón Rodríguez was good. Really good. He twirled a 3-hit shutout to beat the Merida Trovadores, 1-0. The 10th-place Aztecas lifted their record to 13-16.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game scoreless in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Trovadores allowed the Aztecas to score the winning run.

In comments to the Acapulco News, Palafox admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
