The Monterrey Cerveceros wasted an impressive 9.1-inning effort from starter Germán Medina, falling, 1-0, to the Durango Alacranes in 10 innings at Estadio de Durango. The win went to Nicolás Hernández in relief, making him now 3-1. Germán Medina took the loss for Monterrey. The Alacranes raised their record to 13-20.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Durango. That's when Matthew Smith hit a run-scoring double off 38-year old right-handed pitcher Santiago Rodríguez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Big win," said Smith.
