Though he had a stellar game, Gilberto Sánchez could not prevent his team, the Coahuila Carboneros, from losing, 5-4, to the Nayarit Mariachis. Sánchez was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Crisanto Mendoza got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The 8th-place Mariachis improved to 16-19.

Nicholas Fleming drove in one run for Nayarit. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Fleming had a clutch at-bat. Facing Coahuila hurler Ben Downie, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Mariachis a 5-4 lead.

Fleming told a Nayarit Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
