Colibris Handed 6-1 Loss
|
Tijuana got a strong outing from Afrodisio Martínez as the Matadores defeated the Nuevo Laredo Colibris, 6-1, at Estadio de Tijuana. Martínez, now 2-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Even with the win, the Matadores have a dismal 12-24 record.
Tijuana catcher Antenor Montezuma helped the Matadores go up, 3-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Montezuma hit a 2-run single off Nuevo Laredo pitcher Jairo Hernández.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Montezuma told the Tijuana Chronicle.
