Ciudad Juarez Slaps 10-2 Loss on Mexicali
|
The Ciudad Juarez Nortenos coasted to a win over the Mexicali Algodoneros, 10-2. Sebastián Cárdenas had a good day at the plate for Ciudad Juarez. He was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Rosario López, the winner, is now 6-3. He struck out 4 and walked 2 over 8.2 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. Ciudad Juarez goes to 23-21, Mexicali to 26-19.
With Ciudad Juarez leading 6-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Cárdenas came up to bat against Mexicali pitcher Cristián Garza. Cárdenas hit a changeup to right for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Nortenos on top, 10-2.
Mexicali manager Adalberto Abarca said his team was "out of sync."
