The Michoacan Calaveras downed the Merida Trovadores, 7-6. The hitting star was center fielder Les Mann. Mann went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Calaveras. The winning pitcher was José Piñeda. He tossed 120 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. Day Rochford earned the save for Michoacan, his 11th.

Mann had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Mamerto Legorreta, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Calaveras a 7-4 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Mann.

Calaveras manager Pablo Sánchez praised Mann after the game. "I keep telling everyone," he said, "'Don't go to sleep on this kid.'"

The first-place Calaveras go to 31-19.
