Calaveras Notch 7-2 Win Versus Trovadores
|
The Michoacan Calaveras picked up a win at Parque de los Trovadores, topping the Merida Trovadores, 7-2. On the mound for Michoacan was right-hander Juan Carlos Acosta. He played a principal role in the triumph. Acosta, now 10-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The Calaveras improved their record to 32-19 by beating Merida.
In the top of the first inning, center fielder Les Mann had a run-scoring double for Michoacan. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Calaveras on top, 1-0.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Mann, "and then go after the next one."
