Monterrey and Ciudad Juarez duked it out and the Cerveceros came out victorious.
Monterrey picked up a win at Estadio Municipal de Juárez, bumping off the Ciudad Juarez Nortenos, 5-3. Pitcher Germán Medina was a major reason the Cerveceros emerged victorious. Medina picked up the win for Monterrey, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 7-3.
The Cerveceros got a big at-bat from left fielder Ubaldo Guerrero. For the game, Guerrero went 1 for 5 with a triple. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 4th triple of the season gave Monterrey a 2-1 lead.
"Banging out wins is what it's all about," said Guerrero.
The first-place Cerveceros sport a record of 33-20.
