Tijuana beat Nayarit on the strength of starting pitcher Julián Saldaña's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. The Matadores now have a mark of 24-36.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Matadores had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when center fielder Pitágoras Calderón hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Yohann Bessé and made the score 3-0, Matadores. Calderón was 2-3 with 2 singles.
