The Nayarit Mariachis picked up a win at Parque de los Mariachis, downing the Durango Alacranes, 4-1. On the mound for Nayarit was right-hander Miguel Castañeda, who played a pivotal role in the win. Arnulfo Sánchez notched his 1st save in 1 chances. After today's action, Nayarit sits at 26-36, while Durango falls to 35-27.

Castañeda had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third to put Nayarit in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Durango pitcher Valeriano Gómez.

"The key for me has just been attacking the zone and hitting my spots. When I'm throwing strikes and not falling behind in counts, those are the days when I pitch really good," said Castañeda.
