Getting offensive support from Hestio Peña, the Culiacan Galanes topped the Sonora Chacales, 10-4. Peña was 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Galanes. Juan Pérez, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-6. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Tied up with the Chacales in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Galanes got a boost from pitcher Juan Pérez. With the bases loaded, Pérez saw a first pitch fastball from Fraser Mackie and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Culiacan on top, 3-1.
Peña told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
