Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Merida Trovadores take on the Acapulco Aztecas.

The Merida Trovadores topped the Acapulco Aztecas, 3-1, in Sur action at Parque de los Trovadores. The game was highlighted by the performance of Merida pitcher Danny Bowell. Bowell got the win, improving to 1-3. He gave up 10 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Trovadores had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when shortstop Nuño Martínez hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Morrigan Moore and made the score 3-1, Trovadores. Martínez was 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
