Oaxaca pitcher Jorge Castro did his part in helping his team defeat the Campeche Corsarios, 3-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. The winner was Castro. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Mórsimo Becerril. Tafari Mungai was called on to finish, recording his 9th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Abenámar Solache? The Oaxaca center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Zapotecos on top, 2-0. For the game, Solache had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Castro attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
The Zapotecos go to 32-41, putting them 10th in the Sur.
