The Merida Trovadores handed the Oaxaca Zapotecos a sound defeat, 11-2, at Parque de los Trovadores. León Lucero was a main contributor to the win. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for Merida. Saturnín Ruiz came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The 11th-place Trovadores bumped their record to 30-44.

Danny Bowell was a prime contributor to the Merida win. He threw 4.1 innings allowing 1 run. In the bottom of the fourth with one out, the 22-year old left-handed pitcher hit a 2-run single. It made the score 4-1, in favor of the Trovadores.

"Good pitching and timely hitting is a recipe for success," said Lucero.
