Both teams had their chances, but the Ciudad Juarez Nortenos eventually prevailed.

Nortenos shortstop Ricardo Magaña left his mark on his team's 3-2 win over the Guanajuato Libertadores. Magaña, who finished 4th in the LN in runs with 72 last year, went 2-2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for Ciudad Juarez in the contest. The 7th-place Libertadores now sit at 40-38.

The Nortenos took the lead, 3-0, in the bottom of the fourth inning. Facing Guanajuato hurler Ángel Aguilar with two outs, Rosario López hit a run-scoring single.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Magaña told the Ciudad Juarez Chronicle.
