Nayarit Gets 6-4 Win
The Nayarit Mariachis picked up a win at Estadio de Sonora, dropping the Sonora Chacales, 6-4. Miguel Castañeda, who is tied for 6th in the LN in strikeouts with 86, was the difference-maker. Castañeda, now 13-5, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. Picking up the save was Julián Rentería, his 16th.

Nayarit used a well-timed hit by Silvestre Santeliz to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mariachis ahead, 6-4. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We had a good game plan," Castañeda said, "and we were able to execute it."

The Mariachis are now 45-40, while the Chacales fall to 35-51.
