Alacranes Use Late Surge to Win
Durango and Nayarit got after it at Estadio de Durango.

The Durango Alacranes picked up a win at Estadio de Durango, topping the Nayarit Mariachis, 3-1. On the mound for Durango was right-hander Cristóbal Andrade. He played a principal role in the triumph. In 8.1 innings, Andrade surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Nicolás Hernández closed the door for Durango, picking up his 15th save of the year.

Catamantaloedes Reyna was 1-3 for Durango. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Reyna, who finished 2nd in the LN in hits with 165 in 1911, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Nayarit hurler Tsunemori Sugimoto, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Alacranes a 2-1 lead.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Andrade.

The win makes Durango 52-42.
