Sonora pitcher Leoncio Landeros did his part in helping his team defeat the Culiacan Galanes, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The Chacales saw their record improve to 42-54.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Robin Lewis stroked a go-ahead, run-scoring double. It was his 6th double of the season and put Sonora in front, 2-1.

"When you put in the effort and you get really focused, the results come in ways you're not even expecting," said Chacales manager Ademar Pascual.
