Jalisco got a terrific game from second baseman Germany Schaefer. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Nayarit, 8-5. Schaefer was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Nayarit pitcher Tsunemori Sugimoto got the win. He's now 7-10. Adrián Rojas was tagged with the loss. The 10th-place Mariachis lifted their record to 44-54.

Ramón Sena had a big 2-run double for the Mariachis in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Nayarit leading 5-4 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Santiago Palacios, who led the LN in strikeouts with 226 in 1913, and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mariachis ahead, 7-4.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Sena told the Nayarit Gazette.
