The Durango Alacranes picked up a win at Parque de la Libertad, knocking off the Guanajuato Libertadores, 8-3. On the mound for Durango was right-hander Ramón Gómez. He played a key role in the triumph. The 7th-place Libertadores dropped to 51-47.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Víctor Gutiérrez? The Durango right fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Alacranes on top, 2-0. For the game, Gutiérrez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Ramón gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said Durango manager Abrám Orozco.
