Quetzales Win in Glorious Fashion, 4-3
|
Michoacan got a decent performance from pitcher Ambrosi Polo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Chiapas Quetzales. Chiapas won the Parque de los Quetzales contest, 4-3. Polo threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Chiapas is now 55-48, Michoacan 66-38.
Miqueas Canales was the walk-off hero for Chiapas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Quetzales third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"On the outside I was calm," said Quetzales manager Catulo Flores. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
