|
Merida registered a win at La Salchichera by beating the Toluca Chorizos, 6-2. Pitcher Omar Montenegro was one reason why the Trovadores triumphed. Farón Pedroza wrapped it up, recording his 19th save. The 7th-place Trovadores now sit at 51-54.
The Trovadores got a big at-bat from center fielder Gaspar Mendoza. For the game, Mendoza was 1-3 with a triple and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 7th triple of the season gave Merida a 1-0 lead.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Mendoza.
