Not everyone stuck through the 66-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

Coahuila pitcher Ben Downie had a large part in his team beating the Nuevo Laredo Colibris, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The 'W' lifts Coahuila's record to 70-38.

Making an impact for the home team was William Brown. In the bottom of the third, the four-time All-Star had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Carboneros.

"When there are games to be won, you win them," said Coahuila manager Esteban Bellán.
