The Merida Trovadores and Acapulco Aztecas provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Acapulco Aztecas beat the Merida Trovadores, 7-6, in part because of shortstop Nuño Martínez. He went 1-2 with 2 walks, while scoring 3. Acapulco sits in last place in the Sur at 42-67.

Had José Andino not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Andino hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Aztecas.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Martínez. "You've got to get results."
