Veracruz Beats Michoacan, 4-3
|
Veracruz took on Michoacan in front of a lively crowd.
The Veracruz Vigias had to overcome a fine effort from Michoacan pitcher Juan Carlos Acosta to win, 4-3, at Campo Municipal de Morelia. Acosta went 9 innings and allowed 4 runs. The 'W' lifts Veracruz's record to 58-54.
Veracruz used a clutch at-bat from Gabriel Perdomo to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Vigias ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Perdomo told the Veracruz Herald.
