3-1 Win Makes It 7 Straight for Galanes
|
The Culiacan Galanes topped the Mexicali Algodoneros, 3-1, in Norte action at Campo de los Galanes. The standout performance belonged to Culiacan pitcher and Zapopan, Mexico, native Álvaro Rivera. Juan Pérez picked up the save for Culiacan, his 2nd of the year. Culiacan, at 64-51, sits in second place in the Norte.
The Galanes got a big at-bat from first baseman Primitivo Jacobo. For the game, Jacobo was 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 14th triple of the season gave Culiacan a 1-0 lead.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Jacobo, "and go after the next one."
