The Chiapas Quetzales topped the Ciudad Mexico Volcanes, 4-3, in Sur action at Parque de los Quetzales. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chiapas pitcher Ladislao Esquerra. Esquerra, now 18-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. With the win, Chiapas raised its record to 68-64.

Chiapas took a 4-3 lead on Noé Flores's 22nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Flores hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Ciudad Mexico pitcher Guillermo Soto visibly frustrated.
