The Guanajuato Libertadores picked up a win at Estadio de Tijuana, knocking off the Tijuana Matadores, 4-2. Starting pitcher Leovigildo Méndez was a big reason why. Méndez got the win, improving to 10-9. He gave up 8 hits and walked 4 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The current losing streak for Tijuana has reached 14 games.

Guanajuato used a timely hit from Sandalio Juárez to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Libertadores ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said Tijuana manager Marcos Cisneros.
