Aztecas Earn 1-0 Win Against Calaveras
|
The Acapulco Aztecas picked up a win at Campo Municipal de Morelia, downing the Michoacan Calaveras, 1-0, in 10 innings. On the mound for Acapulco was right-hander Morrigan Moore, who played a pivotal role in the win. Moore, now 9-13, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Acapulco is now 52-65. Michoacan is 74-42.
Acapulco used the timely hitting of Spencer Griffiths to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Aztecas on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Moore. "But we got it done."
