The Guanajuato Libertadores scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Tijuana Matadores at Parque de la Libertad. Guanajuato pitcher Leovigildo Méndez held his own in the contest. Pedro Herrera picked up his 22nd save of the season. Guanajuato has run its win streak to 6 straight.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Libertadores had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when second baseman Sergio Delgado hit a run-scoring single.
