Guanajuato Sunk by Nuevo Laredo, 3-2

Nuevo Laredo turned a good effort from starter Jairo Hernández into a win over the Guanajuato Libertadores at Estadio de Nuevo Laredo. The Colibris won the game, 3-2. Hernández, now 14-11, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 6, and allowing 2 runs. Jonás Zavala earned his 20th save, after closing out the game.
In the bottom of the 6th, pinch hitter Catamantaloedes García gave Nuevo Laredo the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Colibris had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Guanajuato pitcher Leovigildo Méndez changed that -- and Nuevo Laredo went on to win.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Hernández.
The 7th-place Colibris go to 61-60.
