|
Fans at Campo de los Galanes witnessed the Ciudad Juarez Nortenos blank the Culiacan Galanes, 1-0, on the strength of a superb effort from starter Ernesto Silva. The Ciudad Juarez right-hander allowed 3 hits in recording the shutout.
"Ernesto was good today, but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," Ciudad Juarez manager Gabriel Dávila said. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it."
Thus far this season, Silva has worked 139 innings with 54 strikeouts en route to a 9-6 record and a 2.78 ERA.
