In a low-scoring affair between the Sonora Chacales and the Guanajuato Libertadores, pitcher Amosa Morilla was the difference between victory and defeat. The Sonora left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Chacales win. Morilla got the win, improving to 14-10. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. Sonora is now 57-66, Guanajuato 69-54.

Had Napoleón García not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, García hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Chacales.

"Amosa is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Sonora manager Ademar Pascual.
